Bats: Cool in the Wild, Not in Your Attic
When bats move into your attic, they bring a whole bunch of problems with them. Their droppings (called guano) pile up fast and can cause serious smells — and even health issues if left too long. They might also bring along parasites like bat bugs (yep, kind of like bed bugs). And while it’s rare, bats can carry rabies. Bottom line: they’re better off outside, not hanging out above your living room.
Why Would They Want To Hang-out
Easy: your home looks cozy! Bats are always looking for a safe, quiet place to roost during the day, and attics, vents, and rooflines offer perfect shelter. If there are lots of bugs flying around at night (like moths or mosquitoes), that’s dinner! Warmth, darkness, and easy access — it’s like a 5-star bat hotel Transylvania.
How We Handle Your Bat Problem
We focus on keeping bats out by using deterrents and sealing up entry points. In some cases, we’ll also treat for insects (their main food source) to make your place less inviting. A paid inspection is needed so we can figure out the best approach for your situation.
Just a heads-up — we don’t usually catch live bats, and due to health rules, we’re limited in what we can do with dead ones. If you find a live or dead bat, it’s best to call County Animal Control. For an additional charge, we’ll remove the nest.
