Insect Economy

Yes, the insect economy within all the tendrils our lovely weeds provide. As the sun provides heat and light throughout the morning. The weeds provide a hideout for insects. An unsuspecting aphid munches on the leaves to fill their bellies, but then something looms above. A shimmering red hover craft of some sort is fluttering its wings. And then as fast as the eye can blink the aphid is consumed leaving without a trace. No evidence is left behind this crime scene.

Ants march within the landscape of weeds in a single file line. These hard workers carry soil, twigs and food back to its colony. In a sign of danger or simply gathering food they will swarm an unsuspecting insect. With countless bites from these bullies they paralyze their foes until no life remains. The lifeless body is then dragged to their homes.

Meanwhile, a small group of grasshoppers emerge from tall blades of grass. They leap from stalk to stalk. With their long legs, they propel themselves like missiles through the skies. The weeds not only provide them food, but a massive playground. Or as some would say a hunting ground, shelter. These insect disguise themselves within the blades. And pounce on other insects for food. And utilize the weeds to cool off from the hot days.

Those are the regular days of an insect life within weeds. As time goes, the sun eventually wipes out the insects shelter. Drying them out, the winds inevitably sweeps them away to a new location. So then, the insect economy collapses. Now homeless, they will seek new shelter. And the nearest is either underground, or in your home.
